Being a Women...

... is an Insult

I read this in on one of my friends Tumblr's when I first didn't have one and it this instance occurred in class a couple weeks ago.

Two boys were talking across the room and one asked for a "favor". The other rejected whatever was asked and the first one said,

"Don't be such a girl, man".

What do you mean "don't be a girl"? Is it so wrong to be a girl; a women?

I've heard class mates even use words like: slut, bitch, skank etc. and they're used so casually and frequently that their meanings change.

It's just as bad when there was that craze and people said, "That's so gay". (and some still do)

Another instance was in English. We're reading and analyzing poems and it's implied that there are prostitutes in one stanza. Then some guys in the back started blurting out different words:

"Skanks"

"Sluts", said another.

Then it just got worst.

"Bitches" (He got sent out of the classroom)

Seriously!? One, are you not intelligent enough to hold your tongue? Obviously not. Second, that word is being used incorrectly. Prostitution is not another word for bitch. Thirdly, and once again, words being used to lightly.

It makes my blood coil whenever I hear things like this.

Dear Models,

You all know that I "run" Dictator Fantasyland and have fashion shows at local anime conventions. The "issue" that's been going around however is somewhat displeasing.

It's not necessarily drama, it's just something that I have to get my thoughts out about it.
Something is going around in the air that, a model(s) isn't cool/good enough/bad ass/etc. enough to be modeling for Dictator Fantasyland.

Whatever model of mine (even temporary ones) have this mentality,

You best be getting rid of that~

There's an obvious reason as to why I chose you as a model. I, personally, think you're the bees kness/the cat's meow/the shit. Why would I want you as a model, if you don't hold those qualities? (plus other interests~)

As a Dictator Fantasyland model, you should know that... as the person responsible for how this business is portrayed is heavily laid on my shoulders. I'm not going to have this line look like crap, and you should know that I won't let you look like that either.

I won't and will not let you fall.

If I let you fall, (which will never happen) I will fall with you. You won't be going down without me.

I felt that should be put out there. Models of DF were chosen by me for a reason. Don't think I'll make you look silly. That's just out of the question~ (You're obviously going to look FIERCE)

Love,

Larxy

Grandpa Sweaters

I like the feeling of being warm. To have that sense of coziness. Being safe and content with my life.

One goal I have for my life is to learn how to love and to express those feelings. Hoping that they are being portrayed correctly.

When that happens, I'll be wearing a grandpa sweater. It seems like the best way to show that person that, I feel content and warm to be around you.

Je tiens à vous aime plus d'un grand-papa chandail.

Taiyou Con

After a long wait, I have finally found my photos and such!

That's our table! The experience was good, but always a bit overwhelming (then also, underwhelming) I always worry if I can even make $5.

But we did sell art! I broke even and A was about $5 less to being there. Next time for sure!!

I took photos every day at the photo booth. Don't I look fierce?

Sex Pistols tee, "God Save the Queen". Accessorized with: crown & lock necklace (which you can't see D: ) Fake Ruki-inspired glasses.

With my lady, Cho. She visited us from Georgia. She was dressed as a Harajuku Decora-esque kid.
Cho: Baby blue corset accompanied by a blue and white checkered with pink & purple tulle tutu. Adorned with White and red bead necklace, my Hello Kitty falls. Black eye patch with a white ' X '.

I don't remember if this was after or before the fashion show. But damn, I look good no?
Black bondage straight jacket. Inverted cross & lock necklace. Lizard Ring.

All in all, Taiyou con was a great adventure for myself. I learned new things with, selling tactics to just people. Also, made some new friends ( ) and new stalkers. If you bought my art or commissioned me, I am truly thankful. Your support means a lot.
If you also said hi and we chatted, it was very nice. You kept me entertained ;D

Ciao,

Larxy

On the hunt...

... to break men hearts! No, I'm just kidding.

I'm on the hunt for college requirements and such, and it's so hard ; 3 ;

It's been up in the air whether to actually go to school and get a career or to do what I love (which is creating fashion designs).
Seven, enlightened me, that a person goes to school to learn new things and talents. I already have somewhat talent with fashion design, so I should pursue learning a new "subject".

Which is Material sciences~

What is material science?

It is the investigation of the relationship between the structure of materials at atomic or molecular scales and their macroscopic properties

Yaayy, wiki .

I've searched schools in California with good material science courses and the two that popped up were University of California: Berkley and University of Southern California.
So far, I've only checked Berkley and the only requirements I found on the site were:
  • A minimum score of 680 on the SAT Reasoning Test, Writing Section
  • A minimum score of 680 on the SAT II: Subject Test in Writing
  • A minimum score of 3 on the Advanced Placement Test in English Composition and Literature or in English Language and Composition
  • A minimum score of 5 on the International Baccalaureate Higher Level Examination in English (Language A only)
  • A minimum score of 6 on the International Baccalaureate Standard Level English and Exam
  • A minimum grade of C in a transferable college-level English composition course completed at an accredited college or university and accepted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Berkeley.
The only thing that scares me about this is the SATs. Like... I'm having a melt down of not passing that. I mean, I've been encouraged that I will pass... but something is haunting me.
My father even said, "Yer passing yer classes now and yer smart, you should do just fine"

That was great motivation... but I'm seriously losing my mind now.

I also haven't done much volunteering. I've done them for local conventions and I plan on volunteering for PCC ('cause I'm not getting a table) and at the library this summer when I'm not working.

Another thing, is that, I haven't done any kind of extracurricular activities at school for the past three years. I hope that selling art and such at local cons can apply to my "extracurricular activities". It is learning how to do business and working with others. That should apply somehow~

Also, if any of you college student friends of mine have any advice... I gladly welcome it. Also tips for getting scholarships and financial aid, yess?

Did I also mention that my tuition is around
$35,341
and that my parents aren't helping me pay? Oh joy.

Resolutions for 2011

If I possibly leave this here in words, for everyone to see, maybe, those people around me can clarify if these Resolutions will actually be succeeded by 2012.

01. Keep calm and stay classy.

I've noticed lately at the end of 2010, my patience or... whatever has been slimming and I've been getting aggravated a lot easier. And that's not cool with me, so I've been saying this in my head repeatedly for a while to "Stay calm and classy."

I must say, it has been working and things have been getting simpler... in a sense.

02. Do something productive everyday.

This may not be seen easily, but for personal purposes, I've set a goal for myself that by my Senior year in high school, I will be dressed classy/jpunk/Ruki - induced outfits for my days at school. It's like that dramatic change over summer type of deal, ya know? I figured, if I do something productive everyday, like making clothes, I would have enough to rotate for my last year of high school.

03. Get a job.
Oh, this one sounds so hard, but I MUST TRY.

04. Drink lots of water!

Such an odd New Years Resolution, but in the middle of 2010, I got really nutrition crazed and was eating healthy and what not, and I sort of got out of that once "winter" came in. Which sucks! I haven't been drinking as much water as I liked, but I wasn't necessarily drinking soda. It was more of milk... but that doesn't really help my situation on how water helps yer body copiously. And I feel that when I drink more water, it gives off this domino affect to do healthier things. I will start drinking more water. End of story.

05. Work harder for Dictator Fantasyland.

Dictator Fantasyland is Japanese Punk induced "brand" that started out in a friends basement. After she took her trip to Japan, we decided to start up this "small business" and started selling JPunk accessories at local cons. To take another step forward with DF, I want to start making actual pieces for the local convention fashion shows and to sell.

I think these five are good enough for people to read. I do have more, but they're more personal and related to how I am as a person. Kinda boring too~
